Min interesse for historien er efterhånden som forfatterens greb om plottet = relativt begrænset. Bogen er først og fremmest for lang. Yarros’ spændingsopbygning var gribende i første bog, vedholdende i anden bog og nu forudsigelig i tredje bog. Som modsvar forsøger forfatteren sig med forgreninger, irrelevante side quests og karakterskifte. So the plot thickens. Men med pektin som i billig yoghurt, ikke med tid og tålmodig historieopbygning. Drager, krig, vold, kærlighed, plot twists og hed sex skal nok holde mig med på rejsen til bog 4. Men det tegner ikke godt, at jeg selv i bogens allerhedeste øjeblikke primært tænkte “jo, jo, men nu kan vi måske også komme videre i historien?”
